Each traditional pad contains up to 90% plastic—the equivalent of four plastic bags—taking a shocking 500 to 800 years to fully decompose. In India, over 85% of this menstrual waste is improperly disposed of, ending up in landfills, polluting water bodies, or being incinerated.
